The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EMTA), the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA), and Tallinn University's Baltic Film, Media and Arts School (BFM) invite you to the final Artistic Research Café of the 2025/2026 season!

Clothing is more than an object—it is an environment that shapes our perception, emotions, and behaviour. The final Artistic Research Café of the year explores artistic research that approaches fashion as an embodied system: a dynamic environment that influences the wearer's physical and psychological experience.

Drawing on theories of embodied interaction and affective technology, the discussion examines how materials, sound, movement, and smart textiles function not only as aesthetic elements but also as sensory agents that shape human experience.

Bringing together design, technology, body awareness, and traditional embodied knowledge, this event explores clothing as a sensitive, responsive interface between the body and its surroundings: a system in which historical material practices and contemporary technology merge to create new experiential spaces.

The discussion will be moderated by Kristi Kuusk, Senior Researcher at the Estonian Academy of Arts.
