On 9 June 2026, violinist Peeter Margus successfully defended his PhD in Music at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EMTA).

His doctoral dissertation, Interpreting Folk Music in Art Music from a Violinist's Perspective: The Works of Eduard Tubin and George Enescu, is available here.

The dissertation was supervised by Professor Kristel Pappel, PhD, and Senior Researcher Žanna Pärtlas, PhD. The opponent was Mart Jaanson, PhD.
