Choreographer and Theatre Director Karl Saks Defended His PhD in Theatre Arts
On 15 June 2026, Karl Saks, choreographer and theatre director, successfully defended his Doctor of Philosophy (Theatre Arts) dissertation at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
His dissertation, "The Practice of Sound Design in Postdramatic Theatre," is available here.
The dissertation was supervised by Jaak Tomberg, PhD (University of Tartu) and Professor Emeritus Jaan Ross (5 April 1957 – 18 January 2026). The opponent was Professor Virve Sarapik (Estonian Academy of Arts).
